![]() ![]() You can play very sneaky giving you more time to aim, or very spammy if you think the other team is intimidated by you. Generally it's not only the accuracy that makes a good Widow. The only things that help against this (in my experience) is playing more, not caring about what other people think, keeping a mindset that you're a million times better than anyone else (that's what you tell yourself, not what your tell other people), and accepting that you'll miss a shot once in a while. ![]() The nervous/shaky thing: I get that sometimes. Play normal deathmatch instead to learn to shoot other targets than widow and how to kill a Genji that managed to close the distance. Also it won't teach you how to position in a competitive match. Widowmaker HS only lobbies teach you how to 1v1 other Widows (and are really fun), but it won't help you to land headshots on a Genji. Aim at them first, then make a very small flick to correct for the last bit of offset between their head and your crosshair. Regarding flicks: you'll want to flick the shortest distance possible. Changing your sens over and over again obviously won't help you get better at it. ![]() The lower your sens, the easier it is to click on people that are far away, or at that one pixel from their head that sticks out over cover. At a certain skill rating the enemy Tracer/Genji will notice that and abuse your inability to turn. ![]() The lower you go the harder it is to turn around quickly and react to the Tracer blinking/Genji dashing through you, so at some point you'll have to make up for a very low sensitivity with prediction and positioning. That's the upper limit that I'd advise you to use. If you have a look at the sensitivities the pros use you won't find a lot of DPS players with an eDPI (eDPI=sens*DPI) of over 6000. My in game sens is 6 and 38 for my scope.ĭisclaimer up front: Sensitivity is highly subjective, but there are upper and lower limits that give you severe disadvantages in certain situations. 2000 is pretty good, except when I get anxious. I moved up to 1500dpi until that felt slow. I started out on 1000dpi however it feels VERY slow. I figured someone out there in the Overwatch community has been in the same position as me, so any tips you have regarding Widow is greatly appreciated! It has helped me a lot, but every now and then I loose myself and end up shaking. I sometimes get super anxious, which is why I started to play Overwatch to help overcome that. I was wondering if there are any other sensitivities you would suggest to at least try out or the range of sensitivity to work with. However that lies mostly in movement and remembering I can literally shoot the enemy anywhere in quickplay not just the head. I started out learning my shots in Widow headshots only, which has really helped me in quickplay even though I have some bad habits I am still working on. If I turn it down to low, I end up flicking short. At the sensitivity I am now, I have to be VERY careful on how hard I flick. I seem to be having trouble finding a sensitivity I am comfortable with. So I still feel pretty new even with the hours I have put into her. Other then the very few I played growing up. I have been playing Widow for about fifty hours now, she is technically the first sniper I have ever attempted to play. ![]()
